Connecting Queer Communities will be attending a screening of A Place Where I Belong, a documentary about our first year as a project!

Connecting Queer Communities (CQC) is a social group for folks with cognitive disabilities who are 2SLGBTQIA+, curious, questioning, or who want to hang out with their queer friends.

Connecting Queer Communities (CQC) is excited to end our Spring season with a BIG event. On Thursday, April 9th, we’ll be attending the REELCauses Film festival to see A Place Where I Belong. A Place Where I Belong is a documentary made by local filmmaker Rheanna Toy that followed our CQC group in our first year, as well as explores queerness and disability in Vancouver.

Make sure to register below so we know to reserve you a ticket!

We will meet as a CQC group at 6:30pm outside of SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts | 149 West Hastings Street, Vancouver (Click for Google Maps link). There will be CQC staff Alison, Kelsey, and John waiting out front of the venue for everyone to arrive. If you are coming by public transit, the venue is nearby to bus stops for the #3, #8, #14, and #16 busses. Once we’ve all arrived, we will walk inside the venue together.

For this CQC event, we’re asking register as soon as possible to ensure we can buy your ticket. We’re also asking folks to bring some money for public transit if that’s how they plan to arrive. If you cannot take public transit on your own and need help with transport, or need ASL interpretation, email Kelsey at kelsey@real-talk.org.
