Connecting Queer Communities finished up the 2025 Vancouver Pride Weekend by marching in the Pride Parade.
This was our third year marching, and this time we were right up near the front of the parade. We got a very excited response from the crowd, and people felt seen and celebrated. Each year, there have been more and more CQC marchers. Each year, marchers see their friends lined up along the route, cheering them on. And each year, some of those friends get in touch with CQC and tell us “You know what? I think I belong with you folks.”
One thing became clear from chatting with folks this weekend: CQC group members love hanging out with each other, and get together frequently outside of official CQC events. They’ve built a network with a life of its own – which is exactly what we hoped would happen when this project got underway back in spring of 2023. Here’s hoping this network just keeps growing and strengthening!
