Recently Real Talk teamed up with Burnaby Public Libraries to help our events have even more impact. Following our workshop, attendees got to browse through dozens of books on sex, sexuality, and disability – all selected and presented at our event space by BPL’s Community Librarian. Attendees were welcome to borrow and take home any titles that looked interesting to them. We’re curious to see if this sparks any new conversations on these topics with families and supporters.
Right now there are many excellent books out there on cognitive disability and sexuality. This list from Parentbooks.ca is a great place to start looking. Even better news – many of the books on the list are available through Burnaby Public Libraries! (Or at least they will be once our pizza party attendees return them…)
