Did you know that the Connecting Queer Communities project is funded by the Pride and Remembrance Foundation? Or that their annual fundraising run happens next month?

The Pride and Remembrance Foundation is a leading not for profit volunteer-run organization based in Toronto dedicated to supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Each year the Foundation selects community charities who receive 100% of the charitable pledges that are raised. In 2023, the Pride and Remembrance Foundation selected Connecting Queer Communities as a recipient organization. Their support has helped fund CQC’s activities – from going out to drag shows in the heart of Vancouver’s gay village, to hosting our very own Queer Prom– which allowed so many folks the opportunity to have the prom experience they’ve wanted for years. This funding will continue to support so many more activities to come, like helping CQC walk in this year’s Pride Parade, Dyke March, and Trans March, among so many more.

The Pride & Remembrance Run is a 5km fundraising run/walk organized and operated by the Foundation. Founded in 1996 in Toronto, Canada, the 5km run and 3km walk is the largest, long running and most fun pride run in Canada.  It’s also the only annual athletic event during Toronto’s Pride Week – promoting and fostering community spirit, goodwill, volunteerism, and sportsmanship in the Canadian 2SLGBTQ+ community. This highlight reel from the 2023 run shows just how fabulous and community-driven the event is.
